1.What are cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — such as whether you are signed in — and to distinguish your session from other users.

This policy explains which cookies Horse Racing Trader sets, why, and how you can control them. It applies to all pages at horseracingtrader.com and is provided in compliance with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.

2.Essential cookies

Essential cookies are required for the Service to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality such as authentication. We do not require consent to set essential cookies under PECR.

These cookies are set by Supabase Auth, which handles user authentication for Horse Racing Trader. They contain a signed session token — not your password — and expire after 7 days of inactivity.

3.Functional cookies

Functional cookies remember your preferences to improve your experience. They are not strictly required for the Service to operate, but disabling them means your preferences will not be saved.

The consent record is stored in your browser's localStorage rather than as a cookie. It is never transmitted to our servers. After 12 months, we re-prompt to refresh your consent.

4.Analytics cookies (optional — opt-in only)

We may use optional analytics to understand how the Service is used in aggregate — for example, which features are used most or where users encounter friction. Analytics cookies are only set if you click Accept in the cookie banner.

If you select Essential only, no analytics cookies are set.

—Analytics data is aggregated and anonymised. It is not used to identify individual users.

—We do not currently use any third-party analytics service that sets its own cookies. If this changes, this policy will be updated with at least 30 days notice.

—You can change your analytics preference at any time — see Section 7.

5.Marketing and advertising cookies

Horse Racing Trader does not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any third-party tracking technology for marketing purposes. We do not share cookie data with advertisers or data brokers.

6.Third-party services

Some third-party services used by Horse Racing Trader may set their own cookies. These are limited to the following:

—Stripe:If you enter the payment flow, Stripe may set cookies to prevent fraud and maintain your checkout session. Stripe's cookie and privacy practices are governed by Stripe's own privacy policy. Stripe does not use your data for advertising.

—Supabase: Auth cookies as described in Section 2. Supabase stores session data in UK/EU infrastructure.

We do not embed social media widgets, advertising networks, or analytics pixels from Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, or any other platform.

7.How to manage your cookie preferences

You have several options for controlling cookies:

—Cookie banner: When you first visit Horse Racing Trader, the cookie banner allows you to select Accept (all cookies including optional analytics) or Essential only. Your choice is saved for 12 months, after which you will be re-prompted.

—Reset your preference:To change your consent, open your browser's developer tools, go to Application → Local Storage → horseracingtrader.com, and delete the hrt_cookie_consent key. Reload the page and the banner will reappear.

—Browser settings: All major browsers allow you to block or delete cookies in their privacy or security settings. Note that blocking the Supabase authentication cookies will prevent you from signing in.

—Third-party opt-outs:For Stripe, refer to Stripe's privacy policy for opt-out options.

8.Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or applicable law. Material changes will be notified by email with at least 30 days notice. The current version is always available at horseracingtrader.com/cookies.
